Welcome to Mrs. Wolfe's Web Site To start, I would like you to know that I truly believe that all children have the right to learn in a caring, safe, and supportive environment. I continually try to create this type of environment in my classroom. Below you will find some general information about the workings of my classroom. I hope you enjoy your visit. General Information: Schedule for Special Teachers Library: Monday-10:30-11:10 Physical Education: Tuesday-10:30-11:10 ( sneakers needed) Computer: Wednesday-9:45-10:25 Art: Thursday-10:30-11:10 (smocks needed) Music: Friday-9:45-10:25 Homework Please expect your child to have homework every night, whether it be written homework, studying, or a combination of the two. Studying The children in my class have been asked to complete the following studying assignments every night. 1) Study your spelling words every night. 2) Review your addition and subtraction facts every night. Written Assignments Written assignments change daily. It is very important to check your child's assignment pad (agenda) each afternoon or evening to find out what the specific assignments are for that day. **Please sign your initials at the bottom of each day in the agenda. Preparing for a Test Children are notified two to three days in advance for upcoming tests in science and social studies. These notifications will be repeated at least twice in their assignment pad. Please refer to the list of HELPFUL STUDY HINTS for tests which have been attached to the back of their assignment pad. ( We will soon be glueing these hints in the assignment pads.) Curriculum Topics for the month of September: READING: School Days MATH: Place Value Ongoing Math Skills That Will Be Reviewed: Number Sense, Basic Addition and Subtraction Facts CALLING ALL MATH WIZARDS!!!!!!!!! CHILDREN SHOULD STUDY THEIR BASIC ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION FACTS EVERY NIGHT USEFUL WEBSITES: www.aplusmath.com www.factmonster.com These websites were developed to help students improve math skills interactively using exciting games and tools like the Flashcard Creator. Clicking on these websites takes you out of the Watertown School District website. SCIENCE: Habitats SOCIAL STUDIES: Communities-(We will start this unit when the science unit on habitats is completed.)
