What In The World Will We Be Doing from September to December?

Math

We begin with place value, rounding and number order, adding and subtracting 2 and 3 digit whole numbers, solving word problems, money, and tables, grids, and graphs.  This should take us through December.

Science

The first unit is Biomes. The next unit is Ecosystems.

Social Studies

We will begin with map skills and geography. The first region we will study is the New England Region and then on to the Southeast Region . Regional units cover the geography, the history, the culture and the economics of the region.

Language Arts

Hurray! Finally our new program has arrived. Storytown is a new, comprehensive language arts program. We are all very excited to begin using it.

And finally:

There are many internet websites that can reinforce and supplement classroom learning.  However, not all websites are quality websites and may have erroneous information.  I would ask parents to monitor the websites their student chooses to use for research. Please encourage your student to use a website of high integrity and quality such as National Geographic or some of the websites I have listed here for your convenience.
