We are currently working on reading comprehension strategies and writing good responses to open-ended questions.

Here you will find a list of reading comprehension strategies that will help you to become a better reader:

        CONNECT

Make connections between yourself and the book, the book and other books, and the book and the world.

RETELL

When you finish a part of the story, tell what happened so far to yourself or someone else. When you finish the story, retell it by mentioning the important characters, the setting, and what it was mostly about in order from beginning to end.

FIX-IT

If what you're reading doesn't make sense, try re-reading to find the mistake.

VISUALIZE

Make a mind movie while you read.

FIND KEY IDEAS

Find the most important information.

INFER

Draw conclusions based on information in the book and what you already know.

QUESTION

Think about what you want to know from the author.

TURN THE PAGES OF YOUR IMAGINATION..............READ!
